What domain extensions do you?

Well, .com is the obvious choice since it's what most people know "is teh internetz", even from Hollywood movies! That said, I find it not even ok, but great when, in some cases, you can find a clever use for an extension and use it as part of your site's name and identity. Like, say, if you booked something like "http://IJustHadS.ex" :p

The .me extension is the Internet country code top-level domain for Montenegro, but there are no restrictions to registering it so people from Maine frequently register it, since that’s also the official postal abbreviation for Maine. At some point, they'll probably be taken away from us.

@Converse I wonder who managed to grab "mini.me" before us :-D

Myself, I am always concentrating on the most common ones that everyday folks recognize. Like .com .net .org I don't really mess with any of the other extensions out there. There are a ton that are somewhat cheaper, but I believe that other people will take your site more serious with the top 3.

For my websites, I always use .com and .org. The main reason for this is that they are generally the go to domains. What I mean by this is not many people would think first to go to google.info or google.biz, because .com is more popular. This may change, but for now I'd say .com is the best.

    Hi,

I personally will only use a .com domain name. I think that when a user puts in a domain name in to the browser they always enter the .com extension. If I am looking for a name and it's taken with the .com extension then I simply look for another name, for some reason I can't seem to bring myself to use another extension.

I've got a few of the new domain extensions but the only one I've done anything with is seniorsonly.club.

I really only like .com and it is really difficult to get used to all the other ones as this is the most common and most professionally appealing. It is also easy to remember.

If your going with a .com, then you don't have to emphasize the domain extention in advertising. For instance, if you had a site called FunCars.com, then you could just advertise it as "Fun Cars", but if the site was FunCars.Biz, then you would to advertise it as "FunCars.Biz".

I like all the normal domain extentions like .com, .net, .org, .us, .biz, .info, and have used them in the past I also like some of the newer domain extentions like .global and .community. However, some of the newer domain extentions are silly , and I wouldn't think of using them.

Yes, I tend to use a domain name for a specific country if the customer is from that place and wants the website to be built only in the language of that country. Else I'd stick normally with a .com or lately I've been using also .net quite a lot. There are also the new domain names if you heard about it that are now avaible in order to be bought but I feel like weird using it, for example I'd love to have a domain like "my.network" but it feels weird typing on the address bar XD
